Shaping how to design and sustain systems change.

Woven is a community-rooted intermediary that connects lived experience with institutional systems.

We work alongside communities, organizations, academic partners, healthcare systems, and policymakers to translate real-world knowledge into research, accountability, and action that transforms inequitable systems.

We center community knowledge, leadership, and lived experience in everything we do, from design to decision-making.

a note from the founders

This work is personal. Not in the way people say that about a job they love, but in the way that your life, your family, your lineage, and everything your people survived and built before you becomes the reason you show up. That is where Woven started.

We did not set out to be a bridge. We became one. Over time, through earning trust with communities who had every reason to be skeptical of systems, and with institutions who had never been asked to share power, we learned that we occupied a space that did not have a name yet. We are neither a community-based organization nor an institution. We are something built from the middle, shaped by our lived experiences inside these systems, the knowledge our communities carry, and the academic training we brought with us.

Getting here wasn't clean. It came from being harmed inside these systems, from the wisdom of ancestors and Black feminist thought leaders, and from an honest reckoning with what community and institutions each protect and why. We had to understand what both systems value and how they communicate, then bring that understanding back to the middle.

We built Woven because this work needed a home that was as accountable as it was ambitious. And we believe that when people who care about justice find each other and weave their knowledge together, something shifts. We hope you feel that too. We hope it moves you to keep going.
